The Seminar: "Solutions to attract more high-quality articles for scientific journals"

On August 8, 2024, the Journal of International Economics and Management organized a seminar titled “Solutions to Attract High-Quality Submissions for Scientific Journals”, featuring the Keynote Speaker, Prof. Dr. Thai Thi Thanh Mai from HEC Montréal, Canada, who is also a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of International Economics and Management. The event attracted a large number of scholars from both within and outside Foreign Trade University (FTU).
In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien, Vice-President of the Foreign Trade University, emphasized the importance of attracting high-quality submissions, considering it a crucial factor for the sustainable development of scientific journals in general and the Journal of Management and International Economics in particular. Following this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Thuy Anh, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal, introduced the journal’s remarkable achievements, particularly its inclusion in the ASEAN Citation Index (ACI) in 2024.
Prof. Dr. Thai Thi Thanh Mai shared valuable insights from her experience managing the Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (Scopus Q1), especially from the early challenging stages. Based on this, she offered specific proposals to further develop the Journal of Management and International Economics, highlighting the essential role of the Editorial Board and the contributions of scholars in attracting high-quality submissions. Additionally, she recommended other strategies such as actively organizing academic workshops and seminars, publishing special journal issues, increasing citation rates and promoting open access.
At the end of the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien reaffirmed the strong commitment of the Foreign Trade University to supporting the development of the Journal, while also calling for cooperation and support from the scientific community both within and outside the university.
